What is Cardiogram?
Cardiogram is a continuous heart-rate monitoring app that gives you direct insights into your cardiovascular health. It does so by providing symptom tracking tools and offering real-time recommendations for improved health outcomes.
What can you do with Cardiogram?
- You can tag sections of your heart rate to see how certain activities impact your heart rate over time.
- You can use the journal section to track how symptoms, moods, or other events might correlate with changes in your heart rate. You can completely customize the “symptoms” in your journal entries, and track any symptom you’d like!
- Cardiogram can notify you of significant changes in your data (e.g., if your resting heart rate increases or decreases significantly).
- With a Cardiogram subscription, you can set up heart rate alerts, export data to be shared with your doctor, and allow loved ones to check in on your heart health remotely using Family Mode.
- Cardiogram itself does not run ECGs, but it can display ECGs captured by an Apple Watch.
How do I read the charts?
When you’re in the Cardiogram app, you can tap the three dots on the top right side of the heart rate chart, and then tap “Legend” to pull up detailed information about how to interpret the charts.
The image above shows the three dots that you can tap to open this menu. After you tap on “Legend”, you will see the below slides (you can swipe left and right in Cardiogram to change which one you’re looking at):
How do tags work?
Over time, as you tag more events in the Cardiogram app, the Tag Insights feature will become more and more useful to you. You can view Tag Insights by tapping on the “tag” icon at the top of the screen:
On the Tag Insights page, you can keep track of how your heart behaves during different activities over time, and view your average, peak, and low heart rate during your most common activities:
